Meet the Teacher!!!

Kindergarten Families,

I am very excited to be your “Director” and for you to be apart of this awesome all-star “cast” we have lined up this year. It's going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures. I’m looking forward to teaching your child and providing meaningful experiences to develop a lifelong love for learning. I truly want their first year of elementary school to be a positive experience.

I want to know all about you, but first I'm going to tell you a few things about me. My name is Holly Miller, I’m 26 and kindergarten is my "thing"! I adore teaching. I grew up as a small town country girl in White Deer, TX. I made a decision to adventure out of a small town life of 1,000 and headed to San Marcos. In December 2009, I received my Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in Elementary Education. This is my fourth year of teaching kindergarten. During the 2009-2010 school year at Willie Brown, I was a student teacher and a long term substitute. I have been around Brown for 5 years now and absolutely love my job and the environment here! Go Eagles!!When I’m not working, I enjoy decorating, watching movies, sports (Boomer Sooner!), and spending time with family and friends. I'm a mama to Norman which is my Maltese dog. He is a sweetheart!

My mission as an educator is that I believe education and learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging. If young children develop a love for learning at an early age, that love will continue to grow as they do. I treat each child as a unique individual and believe that each child has the potential to make a difference in the world. I will do my part to encourage and motivate each child to achieve at their highest level and to develop into life-long learners. I know that education is a partnership between home, school, and community. Together you and I can work for your child to make this experience enjoyable and challenging turning them into the best they can be.

Thank you for entrusting your child to me for this coming school year. I will do my very best every day to be your child’s guide in learning and exploring this bright, new world they’ve just stepped into. This is going to be a BLOCKBUSTER year!
